WHAT DOES THE SKIN CLEANSING PROCESS INCLUDE?

'Exfoliation and proper cleansing are part of a skincare ritual that improves skin quality in minutes.'

1. What products can we use to cleanse and exfoliate our skin at home?

  • There is a wide range of daily cleansers available in the cosmetic "World". It is important to choose a consistency that you like and to assess it after washing your face "does it feel really clean?". Cleansers come in milk, foam, gel, balm and more. If you use micellar water to remove make-up, be sure to follow with a milk or other consistency cleanser (it is important that the micelles do not remain on the surface of the skin throughout the day). The skin needs to be cleansed both morning and night to remove the microbes that have accumulated throughout the day.
  • The peeling AND mask for home use is 111SKIN Rose Quartz Exfoliating Mask. The formula of this mask was developed by Dr. Yannis, incorporating chemical and mechanical exfoliants. Thanks to the clinical grade AHA complex on rose quartz, the mask removes dead stratum corneum and greyness, minimises the appearance of pores and leaves the skin brighter and "light". All of these are benefits we can achieve at home. Use this peel/mask 1x/week, 2x/week for thick and porous skins.
  • Biologique Recherche Lotion P50 is a key product in improving skin quality and solving skin problems. The lotion is formulated with AHA, BHA and PHA acids, vitamin B and other ingredients to lightly exfoliate, tighten pores, reduce skin problems (hyperpigmentation, acne, post-acne, ageing) and improve the results of future products. Despite the acids present, it is formulated in balanced proportions to be a suitable exfoliator for regular daily use.
  • Biologique Recherche Masque Vivant is not an exfoliant, but a deep cleansing mask. It reduces inflammatory processes on problematic skin, tightens pores, reduces sebum production and leaves the skin matte. For an even deeper and more intense cleanse, mix Vivant Mask with a pinch of baking soda. Apply for 15-20 min and rinse off with cool water.

2. Which exfoliators/peels are too aggressive for the complexion and are not recommended?

  • Scrubbing or rotating brushes. "Mass market advertises these brushes as a skin cleansing tool for daily use. If you cleanse your skin in the morning, using a rotating brush in the evening will make your skin too exfoliated, the surface of your skin irritated and sensitive.
  • Scrub exfoliators (we use these exfoliators for the body, but they are too aggressive for the face. Almost 100% probability of skin redness, hence the first signs of rosacea). If a product is aggressive and contributes to flaking or itching it does not mean that it will give better results than others!
  • With fragrances (can cause various allergic reactions). Do not use cosmetic products, i.e. cleansers, lotions, creams, which each contain acids, this will cause too much exfoliation, aggressiveness and will not give the desired results.
